LSBUD DAMAGE PREVENTION CAMPAIGN

 LSBUD Blog

LSBUD as a service, and as a team, exists to help keep people safe and this is something we are extremely passionate about.

Whilst we are a small team, we are mighty! With 3.5+ million searches running through our portal each year and over 220,000 registered users, there is always a lot going on behind the scenes.  There is never a dull moment here at LSBUD and we continually strive to improve and expand on our service.

This page will help keep you up to date with just some of the things we are currently working on.  Whether that is from a Technical perspective, from our Helpdesk & Support team, or relating to our Strategic Development, our aim is to keep you informed and interested in our direction of travel.

And we hope that you will feel inspired to get involved in ensuring that our services meet your needs.  We are a User/Member led organisation so your voice is highly important to us.

Thank you for spending a few moments with us.

What’s Trust got to do with it?

What’s Trust got to do with it? Recently, the LSBUD team were delighted to be a part of the Institute of Water Annual Conference held at the Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff. It was excellent two days with engaging speakers and wide-ranging discussions around the principal theme of Trust, a key issue for everyone working in and with the water industry. This issue is not unique to water, and despite issues that this specific industry is currently addressing, we should never forget that the public has...

A Quarter of a Million Users – And Rising Fast!

A Quarter of a Million Users – And Rising Fast! Just recently the number of registered LSBUD Users hit a very significant milestone. 250,000 Users now have an active LSBUD account. This number doesn’t include those who have registered and subsequently closed their accounts. It is live accounts only. This is a source of some considerable pride. The LSBUD team works very hard to attract new users and, over the past couple of years, has maintained a sharp focus on attracting those Users who...

Customer Satisfaction Survey  You Said We Did! Here at LSBUD we try our very best to make our service as useful and easily accessible as possible to help keep as many people safe whilst digging at the same time as avoiding unnecessary damages from utility strikes.  You may remember we ran a survey at the beginning of the year asking for your feedback as to what you thought of our service and any ideas you may have that could improve on it.  Whilst nothing can be perfect, especially with such a...

An LSBUD adventure in the Peaks!

An LSBUD Adventure In The Peaks! A few Friday's ago, on the 19th of May, LSBUD employees embarked on a challenging 22km hike through the stunning Peak District. Before we could start the trek though, Sam and Laura did a marvellous job at keeping the hunger at bay for the adventure ahead by making a packed lunch for everyone, in the rain, under the little shelter a boot of a car can offer! And so, accompanied by our 2 mountain guides from Peak Walking Adventures, Richard Tower and Rachel...

All enquiries are equal

All enquiries are equal

All enquiries are equal, but some are more equal than others Over 4000 new people every month register on LSBUD to start their safe digging journey. These people come from all walks of life- from the utility network operators and their professional utility contractors, all the way through to designers, architects, farmers and domestic occupiers. To us, there must always be equal access for those digging a hole. It is not equitable or sensible to suggest that someone working for one...

Public Sector Perspective

Public Sector Perspective

Public Sector Perspective At the beginning of each month at LSBUD, everyone in the team tries to predict the number of search requests which will run through our system and, as the new recruit, I am consistently underestimating that figure. I knew that LSBUD was popular but did not know quite how popular…with over 300,000 searches per month. That is the equivalent to one every 10 seconds. As I drill down into my particular area of interest, the UK Public Sector, I have been pleased to see the...
